Dementia Friendly Design (DFD) exists to help create environments where people living with dementia can experience greater comfort, connection, dignity, and purpose — every single day.
We believe dementia care is shaped not only by clinical practices, but by the spaces, tools, and everyday experiences that surround residents and the people who care for them. Thoughtful design can reduce stress, encourage engagement, support independence, and make daily life feel more familiar and humane.
Our Journey – About Us
Dementia Friendly Design grew out of more than a decade of hands-on work through Best Alzheimer’s Products (BAP), a company founded to address practical gaps in dementia care environments.
Over the years, we worked closely with memory care communities, activity professionals, caregivers, and families who were searching for better ways to engage residents, reduce agitation, and bring a sense of normalcy into care settings. Through these partnerships, one theme became clear: communities were not just looking for individual products — they were looking for environmental solutions that could support residents throughout the day.
As our understanding deepened, so did our focus. Dementia Friendly Design was created as the next step in this evolution — a dedicated B2B company focused on the design elements, engagement tools, and environmental features that help shape extraordinary dementia care environments.
