HOBBY WINDOWS

It is a funny thing about Alzheimer’s disease, and with many other conditions that cause dementia, that memories are lost in reverse order. Memories formed recently are more fleeting than those from many years ago. Older memories are available even into later stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Because of this anything that arouses memories of one’s past can be therapeutic for people who have dementia. Reminiscing inspires conversation and social interaction, creates and strengthens neural connections, increases a person’s sense of self, and more.
