Life Skill Stations, like this Nurturing Life Station, are a fairly new concept in dementia care, though savvy carers have long used the notion as part of their practice. These environments are designed to be interactive and to arouse memories of good times past.

Our Nurturing Life Station – sometimes called a “Baby Station” was created specifically for residents diagnosed with dementia including Alzheimer’s. Each station was carefully developed with help from the nation’s leading memory care programs in an effort to provide therapy for wandering residents through productive engagement. Every Life Station is designed with a series and interactive accessories.

Doll therapy is one of our top three non-drug therapies for dementia. The others are music therapy, reminiscence therapy, and art therapy. And it is not just for women. We know from studies of doll therapy that men and even people who never had children will often provide “care” to dolls, so you might be in for some surprises!
